  Merchants of Asia in Green Brook is a great place to shop for fine Persian and Oriental rugs and also to have them cleaned as well. I have purchased several beautiful hand-knotted rugs and runners over the last three years from here. Amit is very knowledgable / patient and spent a lot of time with us perusing rugs. He even special-ordered a runner for our staircase, custom-made. Last week, he brought five huge rugs to our home in order to test out in our dining room and allowed us to borrow our top two favorites for a few days to test them out. I have dealt with rug dealers before at different establishments and found Amit to be very fair, honest, easy-going and extremely generous with his time. He is also very knowledgeable about the rugs themselves and their respective regions.
